The Game Show Brain Teaser

Here's a logic puzzle for you. This is a fun puzzle because it pits the laws of math and logic against gut instinct.

Three closed doors

You are on a game show and you are presented with three doors. Behind a randomly selected door is a car. Behind each of the other doors is a goat. You want the car not the goats. You begin by choosing one of the doors.

Door A is chosen

Before you are told if you are right or wrong the game show host opens one of the doors you didn't choose revealing a goat. The game show host always opens a door at this time. It is always one of the two doors you did not originally choose. And it is always a door with a goat.

Door C has a goat

You are now given the opportunity to stay with your original choice of doors or to switch to the one remaining closed door. Which should you do to maximize your chances of winning the car?
